    Description

This is not a standard run-of the-mill sportster - it's a Sportster Sport XL1200S. It is rare to find one of these in such good condition - original paint not chopped and in excellent running condition. Some history: During the years 1998-2003 Harley Davidson collaborated with Eric Buell to build the best Sportster they could. The characteristics stock from the factory are quite unique, as I will describe below. But unfortunately (predictably) Harley preferred to just churn bikes off the assembly line for business efficiency reasons and stopped making the XL1200S after a short run of production. I go into detail of the modifications I made to this bike in just this past year in this YouTube entitled Project Sportster Sport Build: Rebuilding a Classic Harley Davidson. Watch on YouTube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EBDrKKP86YQ.
What makes the Sportster Sport XL1200S different? Stock features from Harley Davidson factory:
    - Rigid mount 1200cc Evolution® engine
    - High compression, dual-spark plug cylinder heads (2 spark plugs per head, total of 4 spark plugs known as 'Lightning Heads'
    - High performance cams (i.e. hot cams or fast cams)
    - 10.0:1 compression ratio instead of the standard XL1200's 9.0:1
    - Triple-disc brakes (dual front double piston brakes, single disk brake on rear tire)
    - Premium, fully-adjustable sport suspension (allows the rider to soften or stiffen the suspension for sportier or cruising riding)
    - Less restrictive higher airflow exhaust
What modifications were made to this bike just this past year? Note: total cost of all the extras was over ,000
    - New LED lighting throughout (headlight, turn signals, brake light)
    - New front LED headlight and New lower profile rear brake light.
    - New rear brake light connected with Custom Dynamics Triple Play so the rider can select a pulsing pattern for the brake light
    - Newly relocated turn signals relocated to the triple tree from handlebars
    - New 8" Todd's Cycle Stripper Bars (original handlebars can be provided with the bike)
    - New low profile handlebar mounted rearview mirrors (originals included if desired)
    - New Curved low profile rear license plate bracket from Custom Dynamics
    - New Forward controls (original side mounted control will come with the bike)
    - Newly rejetted and tuned carburetor
    - New high flow K&N air filter
    - New Cobra Neighbor Hater slip-on exhaust powder coated black
    - New primary drive pulley belt
    - New spark plugs (4 spark plugs, 2 per each head)
    - New tires this year Dunlop American Elite performance tires
    - New Le Pera Silhouette Solo seat with biker gel (original 2-up seat included with purchase)
    - New battery
    - New fluids (engine oil, primary case oil, all brake lines flushed and new brake fluids, clutch and throttle cables lubricated)
    - New Ignition Coil for higher performance
    - Screaming Eagle Ignition Module (this is like a 'tuner' for carbureted motorcycles)
This bike is almost 20-years old and it runs great. It has been tastefully modernized and and modified -  you just don't see these bikes on the road hardly at all. It took Harley Davidson over 20-years to come out with a a new 2021 Sportster Sport XL1200S. But many say the original from back in 1998-2003 are way cooler because it was such a unique bike and I agree.
I can help with shipping depending on where you live and also happy to coordinate a pick-up either in person or from a shipping company. Mileage is about 16K but I will keep riding it until I sell it. This is a great bike, I'm happy to entertain questions from serious potential buyers only. Let's not waste each other's time, no low ball offers. Do your own research and I think you'll find the price I'm asking is a fair price. If you want a standard run-of the-mill Sportster, there are plenty out there for much less. If you want something special, then this is it.
