    Description

Amazing set of 4 (different) Pilsner beer flasks.  Country of origin specifics not known, but these came from relatives who did a good bit of world traveling back in the 1930s, so I suppose they bought these somewhere in Europe back then.  Seems to be an "international set", showing images which suggest 1) England, 2) Germany, and 3) France, plus the 4th one, some Polo players on horses, which seems suggestive of England?   Definitely not a new product from some contemporary maker -- we've had these for the last ~40 years, and they were already old when we got them.
"Set" of 4 flasks, 3 are clearly from one source, and 1 from (apparently) a different source, as the glass itself is ½-inch shorter, and the painted gold border is a bit farther away from the painted image.  One (only) has some kind of a makers name, "Alexander", at the very bottom.  The "Alexander" maker seems to be the first name, but the 2nd name is not discernable.  See photos for the specifics illustrated.  3 are 8" tall and etched for contents of 8/20 L. (liter).  The other is 7½" tall and etched for 6/20 L.  Two rims are very slightly nicked, and I patched them years ago with a bit of silicon to protect against damage to the lips when drinking from it -- yes, we used them a few times!  There is also a bit of the silicon on one base, barely visible.  Glass is hand-blown and has a few minor bubbles encased in the glass.  The illustrations appear to be hand-drawn, not from decals.  Images have a narrow gold-strip bordering, mostly intact (but one is a bit worn), which were similarly hand-painted on to the glass.
Selling full set only.  Local pickup in Los Angeles is possible, or shipping will be in 2 separate, super-insulated double packages (which is why the shipping is so expensive - sorry!) because of the fragility.  If sold to an overseas purchaser, please note I will need to list the exact purchase details and costs on an invoice which must be 100% accurate;  please do not ask me to alter facts or quote lower prices.  Additional packing fees will apply to cover the paperwork preparation required.  Any import duties which may apply will be added at your end, and I cannot predict what that amount would be.
