    Description

    Horn Drinking Vessel
    I am not positive about this piece nor its use. I had been told it was possibly for black gun powder storage and then was advised it is a drinking vessel. I concur on the drinking vessel. It measures approxiamtely 14 1/2".
    All I do know is that it definitely has age and was purchased at an antique shop in the early1950's.
    There is a dog on the lid - it opens and closes tight. I believe it is white metal and brass.
    As to condition, there are scratches as shown on my last picture and there is also what might be a round repair that has some type of filler. I don't know if this was original to the piece.  It has not been cleaned.
