During use, iron shot moves forward toward struck surface on impact, dampening rebound and ensuring optimal blow transfer. Lixie Hammers provide the greatest work piece surface protection available. Lixie hammers with replaceable urethane faces: (1) pevent marring, peening, or deforming struck surfaces, (2) Are impervious to most oils and solvents, (3) Outperform rawhide and Compo-Cast style mallets in wear longevity and performance, (3) Manufactured from spark resistant aluminum alloy. Grooved hickory handles provide comfort and safe grip regardless of oil or perspiring hands. Handles are joined to head castings by Lixie's patented wedge and epoxy bond to prevent head separations.
