    Description

This is a brown salt glaze stoneware bottle with the name, "CLINTON" incised on one side of the bottle.  The bottle is 9 5/8" tall.
This bottle was made for Ira Clinton, a bottler of mainly Birch Root Beer, in Waterbury Connecticut in the mid 19th century.
This is a beautiful brown salt glaze stoneware bottle.  The stain pictured is entirely smooth to the touch, as shown.  The top lip has the glazing removed on the top edge, as shown.  The top was made crooked, a unique characteristic that gives it a nice patina.
