    Description

    JVC PC100 PC-RM100JW
    VINTAGE MADE IN JAPAN 1984
    WITH DETACHABLE SPEAKER COMPONENT
    PC-BM100K
AND DETACHABLE WALKMAN STEREO CASSETTE DECK
    PC-DM100JW
All functions working even cassette playback. Tested with a cassette.**
**Only issue is the cassette deck will only put sound into one speaker. If using headphones, only one earphone has sound unless you pull the plug out just slightly. Tape counter does not work. Likely needs a new little belt in there for the tape counter. May be a contact issue or needs a little cleaning for the cassette speaker. I was able to hear both headphones fine if I pulled the plug in from the headphones out of the Walkman jack just slightly. Seemed pretty loud when only playing through one speaker. Radio plays through both speakers fine. Cassette player itself works great and plays tapes fine, just puts sound into only one speaker.
DOLBY and FINE TUNING and Dual Antennas and Detachable handle and detachable Walkman and AUX IN– WOW.
Condition – Excellent. All functions tested. Only one speaker plays with cassette, all other functions are perfect. Both speakers work with all other functions. Cassette player only plays through one headphone unless you pull the headphone cord out of the jack slightly. Tested with cassette. Great sound, just one speaker.
Tested today on AM / FM and with an actual cassette! Playback was great, cassette sounded terrific!
Unit tested for a couple of hours today. FUN!

    A TRUE COMPONENT SYSTEM!
    From boxnostalgia.blogspot.com:
When I think about the 80’s and portable radio culture, I realize how different the world is today. The world of sharing music in parks and on city streets now resides in cyberspace as we share in anonymity online. The radio that marked this change from public music “broadcasting” to private consumption was the JVC PC-100 a mini unit with a detachable walkman. Now you could share your music in the public sphere, or keep it private by ejecting the cassette deck and plugging headphones into it. In many ways the descendant of the walkman today is the MP3 player, the ubiquitous Ipod. Indeed, all the radios I have mentioned here were all built with the ability to plug a portable media player into them, so you can easily plug your IPOD into these radios and mix the digital age with the warmth of analogue amplification and sound.
Measures 13.75 inches wide and 5.75 inches tall (not including handle or antennas).
Weighs in at about 7 pounds!! Must be all the metal in it and actual decent speakers!
    Boombox Features:
    Some minor scratches nothing major.
Metal cassette lid and metal top around controls.
Dual antennas – both are nice and straight.
AM / FM / SW1 / SW2 Regular tuning know AND FINE TUNING wheel above band selector!
    Mono / Stereo radio control
    All lights work
Radio FM picks up an amazing amount of stations.
I was able to listen to AM radio after toggling the selector a couple of times.
SW 1 / SW2 seemed to want to come in – maybe just the time of day
    Detachable and lockable carry handle!
Treble / Bass / Volume controls. No scratchiness in volume control.
    Nice metal grills
    No chips or cracks
    Clean battery compartment
    Headphone jack
Still has the removable clear anti-scratch sleeves between both speakers and the boombox!
Release buttons for speakers work well
    Battery covers complete
Aux in on back– can connect an MP3 or other device. (Dare I say record player with built in AMP with RCA connectors)? Portable CD player would go nicely here too folks. You just need the right cable. I tested this jack ( I have a cable you can pick these up here on E-bay). Input works fine. (Cable not included).
    Cassette deck features:
    Metal cassette lid.
    Noise reduction
Walkman locks into boombox solidly. Release button works well.
Cue (Fast Forward) and review (rewind) Both tested
    Play / stop
/ pause / eject – All work as they should. Play sounded great (just one speaker though!)
    Record – not tested
Tape - Norm / Metal selector
    Beat cut selector 1 / 2
    / 3
    Dolby On / Off
    Volume control – no static
Headphone jack on boombox and one on the walkman
    Clean battery compartment
    No chips or cracks.
    Nice metal grills
Power light works as it should
    Battery cover complete
    Tape counter (not working)
Boombox still has the clear anti-scratch protective sleeves (removable) between the speakers and radio. See photos.
Speakers can be detached and then plugged in. No need to plug in when connected to the boombox since there are contacts when they connect!
Powered by power cord (included) or 8 size C batteries (yes 8!)
Walkman powered by 2 AA batteries. No batteries needed if connected to the boombox.
No batteries are included. Headphones not included.
